Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)

What is PRP hair treatment?

PRP is concentrated blood plasma that contains approximately 3 to 5 times the no. of platelets found in normal circulating blood.

It contains other growth factor & bioactive proteins that aid in wound healing & possibly hair growth. PRP therapy is an advanced, non-surgical, therapeutic procedure to treat hair loss conditions amongst patients with requirements of hair growth stimulation.

How it works? PRP therapy for hair loss is a 3-step medical treatment in which a person’s blood is drawn, processed, & then injected into the scalp.

Step 1 Your blood is drawn-typically from your arm & put into a centrifuge.

Step 2 After about 10 min in the centrifuge, your blood will have separated into the 3 layers: Platelet poor plasma, Platelet rich plasma, Red blood cells Step 3 The platelet-rich plasma is drawn up into a syringe & then injected into areas of the scalp that need increased hair growth. PRP injections trigger natural hair growth & maintain it by increasing blood supply to the hair follicle & increasing the thickness pf the hair shaft.

Sometimes this approach is combined with other hair loss procedure or medications. Benefits: Promote hair growth.

Prevent hair loss. Stimulate stem cells in the environment of the hair follicle. Promote the health of shrinking hair follicles lead to a slowing down of hair loss.
